Agricultural spraying can involve chemicals, pressurised equipment, long hoses, heavy tanks, uneven terrain and moving vehicles. That's why safety shouldn't be something considered after a sprayer has been designed — it needs to be considered as part of the system itself.

Safer Hose Management with MegaDrive
Dragging and retrieving long lengths of spray hose can introduce unnecessary risks. Hoses can tangle, operators can fatigue, and fast-moving hose can create trip hazards or sudden movements during retrieval. MegaDrive is designed to help address these issues — its MyPace™ variable-speed system lets operators select an appropriate retrieval speed, while smooth, controlled rewind helps minimise sudden hose movement, and the operator can stop the reel remotely when required.

Designed Around the Operator
Good sprayer design should consider what happens before, during and after spraying. Selected Rapid Spray SprayScout systems include a dedicated 17L rinse and flush tank with a handwash tap, giving operators access to clean water when working around spraying equipment. Other practical features include anti-spill lips around tank openings, basket filters to help prevent debris entering the system, easy-access suction filters, auto shut-off for easier filter cleaning, fully draining sump tanks, forklift pockets, lifting and tie-down points, galvanised frames and remote hose-reel operation.
Individually, these may seem like small details. Together, they can make a significant difference to how safely and efficiently equipment can be filled, transported, operated, cleaned and maintained.
Safety During Transport Matters Too
A sprayer may contain hundreds of litres of liquid — which means mounting, load limits, vehicle stability and liquid movement need to be taken seriously. Rapid Spray provides operating guidance covering tank mounting, vehicle manufacturer weight limits, securing tanks, operation on rough or steep terrain, chemical handling and appropriate PPE. For applicable tank installations, Rapid Spray also recommends Ball Baffles® to help control liquid surge during transport. Because safety doesn't begin when you pull the trigger on the spray gun — it begins when the equipment is loaded onto the vehicle.
