After replacing the motherboard on my Buddy Smart Reel, my reel is now working in reverse (spitting out the hose instead of rewinding the hose). What can be done to rectify this?
The program can be reset. Please call the Customer Service team at 1800 011 000 and we can talk you through the steps to rectify this.
Is this product made in Australia?
Yes! This tank is made in New South Wales, Australia and comes with a 15-year tank warranty.
Is this sprayer compatible with boom spraying?
Yes, the 4M Poly Boom is a compatible booms for this unit. The nozzles can be replaced for different spray patterns/coverage depending on your requirements. This can be used for weed control or fertiliser spray.
What type of oil can be used in this pump?
We recommend 10w-30 for this pump, however always consult the pump manual for your unit.
How to pair your Buddy Smart Reel remote.
- Make sure you’re within reach of the Buddy Reel switch panel while holding the remote.
- Turn Reel On – Check that the reel is powered and switched on. It should flash 0.
- Prepare the Remote:
- If your remote has no batteries, insert one battery.
- If your remote already has batteries, remove one.
- Insert the remaining battery halfway so it’s ready to be pushed in.
- Activate Pairing:
- Press and hold both buttons on the remote.
- At the same time, push the battery fully into place.
- Look for Flashing Lights:
- The remote’s green light will flash slowly.
- The reel’s switch panel display will flash PA slowly.
- Confirm Pairing:
- Within 10 seconds, press the manual rewind button (↵) on the reel’s switch panel.
- The display will flash PA quickly, then return to 0 (steady).
- The remote’s green light may keep flashing for a few more seconds before stopping.
- Test the Remote:
- Once the green light stops flashing, press either button.
- The reel should respond, confirming successful pairing.

Why won’t my pump prime?
Cause: The motor is idling too low, or the suction filter or hose is loose, allowing air instead of water.
Solution: Increase the engine RPM above idle to engage the clutch properly. Ensure the suction filter is securely attached to the pump.
Why is the pump losing pressure or fluctuating?
Cause: Possible air leaks, blocked intake, or filter issues.
Solution: Inspect and tighten all hose fittings and clamps. Check the intake hose for kinks or blockages. Ensure the filter cap is properly engaged and the gasket is intact.
Why is the pump motor cutting out under load?
Cause: The engine may be underpowered or the clutch isn't fully engaging.
Solution: Increase engine RPM to ensure the clutch engages fully.
Why does the pump not start?
Cause: The engine may not be engaging correctly with the pump.
Solution: Ensure the motor RPM is above idle to allow the clutch to engage properly.
Why is the pump making unusual noises?
Cause: Loose or missing screws, or debris in the pump.
Solution: Regularly check and tighten all screws. Ensure no parts are missing and that the pump is free from debris.
